Waking Death

She didn’t want to look up,
but look up did she;
Only to see the moonlight
whose beauty shone upon thee.

Its face was so full
over the cloudless sky,
T’was accompanied with stars
that shimmered up high.

Overwhelmed was she
of that wondrous sight.
Yet she tumbled down trembling
of such great fright.

She feared for her heart
for her heart to be broken.
Coz she fell for the moon
with its moonlight aglowing.

She fell for the moon
coz to her it has shone.
Its beauty is what she saw
before death she’d been beckoned.
