Moonshine.

Here I am staring up
gazing at your glory.
Here without companion,
alone but ne’er lonely.

The splendor you bring
to this night sky.
Majesty and magnificence
nothing else can defy.

I close my eyes,
I make a wish,
hoping as I sleep
you’d keep me tonight.

For only in my sleep
do I feel your eyes on me.
I wander in my waking moments
as I ponder on what we could be.

Sitting here looking
for words to rhyme,
Waving up on you
on this dark grey sky.

Boast on your silver finish,
Keep on shining up high!
I’ve fallen in love with the moon,
That – I could never deny.

My Poetry

Private as I am,
I indulge myself some space.
My worms are in a can,
I make sure they’re debased.

Specifics in my life,
I’d rather keep in confidence
But my poems cannot lie,
truths depicted between the lines.

So I write in rhymes
The feelings I keep inside
Each line is a chime
the music with which I’m enticed.

Easy, Baby

The Earth wasn’t round;
Face-front to the ground.
Frosted on summer breeze,
Defunct with memories.

Shattered to pieces,
Silence couldn’t equate peace,
I can’t see me in the mirror;
Coz you were nowhere near.

I’ve been there before,
Drunk, all over the floor.
Reckless and vulnerable,
God! I was so unstable.

Then you came around
Wandering in and about.
You looked into these eyes –
Like you found your prize.

You broke into my soul
Tried to break down my wall.
I almost gave in
Yet fear crept back in.

Inside me is that fright,
Heartbreaks, I need to fight.
I’d be ready soon enough
Easy baby, let’s not rush.
